Installation

Simple Installation

LSA MES and liferafts are simple and easy to install. Accompanying each installation is a detailed set of installation drawings produced by the LSA Design Department. These drawings are produced in partnership with the individual ship owner / shipyard / ship designer to achieve the optimum lifesaving configuration for each vessel. These drawings will provide the shipyard with specific instructions on how to prepare the vessel to install LSA MES and liferafts.

Installing LSA MES causes minimal disruption to the ship build or ship repair program. A typical installation will take only 1-2 days. As you can see from the detail below it is a very straightforward procedure.

Independent MES

LSA MES is completely independent of all other vessel equipment.

LSA MES requires no winches or special bowsing arrangements. There are no complicated hydraulics to install and there is no requirement for connection to ship’s power.

An integral part of LSA MES are the bowsing lines which help keep the deployed MES in the optimum position regardless of ship motion and sea conditions. The bowsing lines are also very simple to install, requiring minimum shipyard work or modification to the vessel if it is a retrofit.

Each bowsing line is a fixed length, pre-determined by the LSA design team.

Flexible Installation

LSA MES is both lightweight and compact. This small deck footprint permits LSA MES to be installed into smaller spaces than other types of MES.

LSA MES can be installed either inside the main passenger area or on an open deck.
