Quality Assurance

Liferaft Systems Australia is a privately owned organisation formed specifically to design and manufacture marine evacuation systems for all types and sizes of passenger and personnel carrying vessels. The organisation is established in a purpose built production facility in Hobart, Tasmania.

The nature of the work carried out, and the organisation's corporate strategy, its attitude towards quality assurance and commitment to producing a product to save lives requires a clear and logical approach to the manufacture of each item of lifesaving equipment.

Quality is fundamental to the work undertaken by Liferaft Systems Australia and attention to quality assurance is promoted to each employee to enhance the working environment to the betterment of the entire organisation, its customers, other interested parties and end users. To promote uniformity of work consistent with continuous improvement certain activities fundamental to the organisation shall be implemented at all times without significant variation.

Quality Policy Statement

It is the intention of Liferaft Systems Australia to be a world leader in the design and manufacture of life saving appliances and marine evacuation systems. The nature of the organisation's activities demands a high level of product dependability and conformity. 

To this organisation, quality means providing customers with innovative products and services that anticipate and fully satisfy their requirements, and those of the EU Directive for Marine Equipment 96/98/EC, as amended; IMO Resolution A 689 (17), as amended; and SOLAS 74, as amended; Code of Federal Regulations of the United States -Title 46 CFR – Shipping, as amended; Canada Shipping Act 2001 and associated regulations as amended; Large Commercial Yacht Code (LY2) – UK MCA Merchant Shipping Notice MSN1792 (M); and Air Services Australia - Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting - Standards for Inflatable Rescue Platforms as amended, as applicable.

The organisation is committed to continual improvement of products and services which will give a competitive advantage and thus will provide good returns for shareholders and rewarding jobs for employees, consistent with ethical corporate citizenship.

The organisation is committed to the concept that adherence to the required quality standards is the responsibility of every employee.

To support these objectives the organisation has adopted the criteria established by ISO: 9001: 2015 to document and control its quality processes and activities, objectives and outcomes.
