Owners and Crews Praised following Evacuation of Canadian Ferry “MV Holiday Island”

Liferaft Systems Australia wish to formally recognize the efforts of the “MV Holiday Island” owners following a full evacuation of passengers and crew last Friday.

The “MV Holiday Island” experienced an engine room fire and following onboard safety protocols, the Captain ordered a full evacuation of the vessel.

Two Liferaft Systems Australia (LSA) Marine Evacuation Systems (MES) were deployed by the crew and all passengers were evacuated in a safe, orderly manner using the LSA 20 metre inflatable evacuation slides connected to 100 person SOLAS B Self Righting inflatable liferafts on the Port and Starboard side of the vessel.

LSA North American Manager Mr Vlad Prato has advised that the LSA MES deployed perfectly, evacuating all passengers and crew into the liferafts via the inflatable slide, without any problems whatsoever.

Mr Prato praised the Captain and crew who made sure all passengers were evacuated safely and without injury. It is expected that the deployed equipment will be serviced and re-installed on the vessel at a later date.
