LSA SAFE™

The Liferaft Systems Australia (LSA) SAFE™ is a slide-based evacuation system that is designed for passengers on a low freeboard vessel to be able to quickly abandon ship directly onto a large inflatable buoyant apparatus (IBA), in an emergency situation.

Advantages
  • Manufactured from durable and lightweight advanced polyurethane coated fabrics.
  • Constructed using proven high frequency welding and cold stick adhesive bonding techniques.
  • Only one crew member is required to deploy the system.
  • The LSA SAFE™ is stowed with the primary IBA in a purpose built aluminium storage unit.
  • The link IBAs can be located in a separate stowage rack adjacent to the LSA SAFE™ unit and connected to the primary IBA by permanently rigged lines.
  • The LSA SAFE™ and IBA are inflated by high pressure aluminium cylinders filled with a CO2/N2 mix, packed within the stowage unit.
  • Each LSA SAFE™ operationally packed with a 4m Mini Evacuation Slide and 150-person IBA liferaft weighs 640kg.
  • The LSA SAFE™ is approved by USCG and Transport Canada by Lloyds Register.
