Successful deployment from HMS Prince of Wales

Submitted by Maree Da Costa on Thu, 04/04/2019 - 14:10

On Wednesday, 20th March at Rosyth Naval Dockyard in Scotland, LSA completed the successful deployment of the three port side MES from the second UK Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier, HMS Prince of Wales. The successful testing of the primary ship’s evacuation systems is a key milestone as the construction of this impressive vessel nears completion.

LSA MES is already installed on sister ship, HMS Queen Elizabeth and has been chosen to be installed on the new Royal Navy Type 26 Class Frigates. LSA is very proud to be associated with Aircraft Carrier Alliance members Babcock and BAE along with the Royal Navy and UK Ministry of Defence.

The deployed equipment consisted of 20-metre evacuation slides and 100-person self-righting liferafts SOLAS A.
