A string of successful deployments in Norway

Submitted by Maree Da Costa on Wed, 19/02/2014 - 09:29

On Tuesday, 4th February 2014, a successful deployment test of an LSA 14m MES with a 128-person open reversible liferaft and a 128-person open reversible link liferaft was conducted from Boreal Transport Nord AS vessel MF Tenna in Sandnessjoen, Norway.

The deployment test was conducted by the crew in adverse weather conditions.  Thirty crew members descended the MES slide and all were safely recovered back up the MES slide and onto the ship following the training exercise.

MF Tenna is the latest of four new double ended passenger car ferries constructed by Fiskerstrand Verft AS in Norway.  All four vessels - MF Heroysund, Husoy, Lovund and Tenna - are equipped with LSA MES and a successful deployment test was conducted by the crew on each vessel.

In total Boreal Transport Nord AS now has 11 ferries equipped with LSA MES.
