Owner and Crew Praised following Evacuation of Canadian Ferry “MV Holiday Island"

Liferaft Systems Australia wish to formally recognize the efforts of the “MV Holiday Island” owner Northumberland - Bay Ferries and crew following a full evacuation of passengers and crew last Friday.

 The “MV Holiday Island” experienced an engine room fire and following onboard safety protocols, the Captain ordered a full evacuation of the vessel.

 Two Liferaft Systems Australia (LSA) Marine Evacuation Systems (MES) were deployed by the crew and all passengers were evacuated in a safe, orderly manner using the LSA 20 metre inflatable evacuation slides connected to 100 person SOLAS B Self Righting inflatable liferafts on the Port and Starboard side of the vessel.

 LSA North American Manager Mr Vlad Prato praised the Captain and crew who made sure all passengers were evacuated safely and without injury.

 Mr Prato also praised the work of our Halifax service partner DSS Marine and their MES Technicians, who installed and commissioned the MES on “MV Holiday Island”.
