AMHS and another successful deployment

Submitted by Maree Da Costa on Wed, 05/03/2014 - 12:18

A successful deployment was recently conducted on the refurbished MV Tustumena.  The trial consisting of an LSA 14m MES and a 100-person self-righting liferaft was conducted at Seward Alaska by the ship's crew with 23 crew descending the MES slide as part of the training exercise.  The LSA Means of Rescue (MOR) was also tested with the crew being trained in the recovery of personnel via the MOR. MV Tustumena is the tenth vessel in the AMHS fleet to be fitted the LSA MES.
